Johnny Flynn’s performance at the Electric Ballroom has previously been flagged up, but there is no harm checking him out again here. His 2009 Sweet William EP did not generate the same level of coverage as his acclaimed 2008 A Larum album. Consider going to the Electric Ballroom on Wednesday to give him the applause he deserves.
On Thursday you might want to head over to The Flowerpot to see Idelwild’s Rod Jones’ taking to the stage with his own, significantly more acoustic, material. We love it when a guitarist gets to move centre stage. Listen here to his new song Wonderful.
